Miki Ben-Cnaan

 


 Miki Ben-Cnaan was born in Tel Aviv. An artist as well as a writer, she has exhibited her art in solo and group exhibitions, in Israel—the Tel Aviv Museum—and the U.S. Professionally, she has worked for  years as a stage and costume designer, participated in founding the "Young group of the National Habima Theater". Ben-Cnaan has received many awards for stage design: the Acre Theater Festival Award (1984), Habima Theater’s Goldenberg Prize (2002), the Sternfeld Prize (2003), the Fringe Theater “Golden Hedgehog” Award (2007) and the Prime Minister's Prize (2014) for Literature. She was teaching stage and costume design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and the Kibbutzim College of Education. Nowadays she is lecturing about ways to connect to once own creativity and the  ideas that makes reality.  In recent years Ben-Cnaan has established a start-up company to develop a medical device that she invented - The HARP company. Her first novel: Mother of wheat, is being translated nowadays into English and The Grand Circus of Ideas - her second novel, was translated now and  published in Italy  (2014).
